What MemeExchange shows, how each number is computed, and — just as important — what it does not do.

Data sources

All market data comes from free public APIs: DexScreener (pair/token discovery and 24h stats), GeckoTerminal (cross-checks), and Jupiter (swap quotes and routing for the optional trading path). No paid feeds, no proprietary data, no off-chain claims. Figures are as reported by those services at request time and may lag on-chain reality.

MEX 50 index

The MEX 50 is a liquidity-weighted index of the top 50 Solana meme-sector tokens. To qualify, a token must currently show at least $10,000 liquidity and $1,000 of 24h volume on its primary pair. The index value is the liquidity-weighted average of constituents' 24h price change, expressed as points above a 1000 base:

MEX 50 = 1000 × (1 + Σ(wᵢ · Δ24hᵢ)) , wᵢ = liquidityᵢ / Σ liquidity

If fewer than 10 tokens pass the filters, the app displays an "insufficient constituents" state instead of a misleading number.

Sector boards

Sectors (OTC Desks, Index Funds, Hedge Funds, Exchanges, AI, Politics, Cats) are assigned by a keyword heuristic over token names, symbols, and metadata — an automated classification, not curation. A token can appear in more than one board. Boards rank their tokens by 24h volume. Because the labeling is heuristic, some tokens are unavoidably miscategorized; treat board membership as a discovery aid, never an endorsement.

Movers & new listings

Top movers: the largest absolute 24h price changes among index-eligible tokens.
New listings (IPO board): recently created pairs that already pass the liquidity and volume floors, stamped with their pair creation time.

Watchlist

Saved tokens are stored only on your device (app private storage). There is no account, no server-side watchlist, and no sync.

Trading path

Token detail screens include a quote + swap card. Quotes come from Jupiter's public quote API. When you choose to trade, the unsigned transaction is built for your wallet and presented to your Solana Mobile Wallet Adapter-compatible wallet app; you approve or reject it there. MemeExchange is non-custodial: we never hold keys, never sign server-side, and never take custody of funds. If you have no wallet connected, you can browse everything — trading simply stays locked.
